SEVEN Heavens, a son of Frankel, stormed to success on his Ascot debut.

The two-year-old was heavily backed before the Maiden Stakes contest, winning at 5/4, having been nearer 2/1 earlier in the day on Friday.

Frankel’s offspring have been part of a sensational story so far this year and Seven Heavens continued it with the six-furlong victory.

The first of the Frankel offspring to wear the Frankel colours, Seven Heavens is now likely to have a big summer and future ahead.

Mark Johnston’s Montataire was a good-looking winner of the Knights Nursery Handicap Stakes on Property Race Day at Ascot too, leading one furlong out and easing down to a six-furlong success.

A thrilling finish in the third race saw Oceane and Fergus Sweeney narrowly win The Close Brothers Property Finance Handicap Stakes on the line from the well-backed Steve Rodgers.

Adam Kirby put on a front-running masterclass on Bobby Wheeler to win the JLL Handicap Stakes for Clive Cox.

In the final race of the day, longshot Bluegrass Blues won at a huge 33/1.

Saturday’s card saw Mutakayyef land the Fred Cowley MBE Memorial Summer Mile Stakes in style.

The William Haggas trained five-year-old surged to the front one furlong from the finish and never looked like losing. Dutch Connection finished second and 25/1 shot Gabrial finished third.

A thrilling finish to the Totescoop6 Heritage Handicap Stakes saw Royal Birth get up on the line in a photo to beat Robot Boy.

At least seven of the 18 runners had a chance to win in the final few yards, and the crowd roared home the tense finish of the five-furlong sprint.

In the opening race, Geneva Convention soared to a comfortable win for Richard Hannon under a patient ride from Kieran O’Neill.

Hannon secured a double on the day as Paulownia took the fourth race at 11/4.

The Playboy Club London Handicap Stakes went to Move Up who beat the short-price favourite Gershwin in a photo finish thanks to a powerful ride from William Carson.

Singyoursong hit the right note to impress in the Fillies’ Handicap Stakes under a good ride from Kieran O’Neill who enjoyed a double on the day.

Pat Smullen travelled over from Ireland and got his reward with a vintage ride on Manjaam to win the Johnny Brett Handicap Stakes.

George Baker and Experto Crede won the final race of the day.

The next Ascot meeting will be the two-day King George VI weekend on July 22-23.
