WOKINGHAM CC jumped to third in the Thames Valley League Division One table following a facile seven-wicket triumph at home to Marlow, writes Richard Ashton.

Jack Wood (6-45) was the star of the show for the Oaks as they skittled their opponents for just 135, and former professional duo Dan Housego (62no) and Michael Bates (41) steered their side to victory after 31.3 overs.

Wokingham visit rock bottom Windsor this coming Saturday, with the hosts having lost all 10 of their games this season.

John Macdonald took 6-82 as Division 4b table-toppers Wokingham 2nds beat Chiswick & Whitton 2nds by six wickets.

He helped bowl the Londoners out for 209, and Anthony Clapham’s unbeaten 61 steered the Oaks to victory.

In Division 6b, Callum Creighton (3-46) and Cameron Gillespie (3-46) impressed for Wokingham 3rds, but they lost by 22 runs at Cove 3rds.

The hosts were dismissed for 197, but despite Ross Bonnell’s 71, Wokingham were knocked over for 175 in reply.

Wokingham 4ths remain second in Division 8a after their 43-run success against Bagshot 3rds.

Glyn Clements (109) top scored as the Oaks declared on 229-3 after 36 overs, and they then bowled their opponents out for 186.

Wokingham 5ths (225-7) drew their Division 9a game at Thatcham Town 4ths (190-6).
