HURST moved into second place in Division 2b with a comprehensive 120-run win against Thatcham Town, writes Oscar Beardmore-Gray.

After winning the toss and deciding to bat, Hurst managed 189 in 51.2 overs, Lewis Smith top-scoring with 89.

In reply, Thatcham were blown away for just 69 with Phil Higgs capping off a man-of-the-match performance with 8-21.

Hurst travel to High Wycombe 2nds on Saturday (1pm).

Royal Ascot fell to table toppers Henley 2nds by four wickets as they were beaten for the second week in a row.

Put in to bat, Ascot stuttered to 110 all out, Nick Sweetman (49) making the majority of the side’s runs.

Henley were made to work for their win, with Mike Brown taking 5-42, but Ascot simply did not have enough on the board.

Royal Ascot visit Beaconsfield this coming Saturday (1pm).

In Division 2a, Eversley suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of Maidenhead & Bray in a game they really should have won.

Having put the opposition into bat, the returning Jack Sever (3-24) helped bowl Maidenhead out cheaply for just 119, but the Boars could not take advantage of the low total and were all out for 64, succumbing to excellent bowling from Yunus Sert (4-25) and Louis Blackwell (4-36).

Eversley visit Kidmore End this Saturday (1pm).

Eversley 2nds were denied victory against Cove 2nds in Division 3a.

The Boars initially slumped to 47-4 before Ibne Sayed (110) and Anam Rahim (56) propelled the innings to 223-9 off 52 overs.

However, Eversley could not take the final Cove wicket, despite Rezaul Roni’s 5-63, as they survived on 186-9.

Bracknell sealed a six-wicket win against Maidenhead & Bray 2nds in Division 5b.

Phil Stone’s 6-22 helped Bracknell restrict Maidenhead & Bray to 143, before the hosts waltzed home within 38 overs with the loss of four wickets.

Bracknell visit Falkland 3rds on Saturday.

Saeed Ahmed (4-7) starred for Royal Ascot 2nds (203-6 declared off 50 overs) but they were denied a win by Slough 4ths (132-7).

Tom Hibbs made 104 for Hurst 2nds (215-3) as they beat Fleet 2nds (163) by 52 runs in Division 6b. Tim Everitt took 5-70 for Hurst.

In Division 7a, Bracknell 2nds (163-8) earned a draw against Thatcham Town 3rds (185-8).

Eversley 4ths (265-5 declared in 40 overs) remain rooted to the bottom of the Division 8a table despite dominating their draw with Reading 4ths (211-7).

Lewis Sullivan took 8-50 but still ended on the losing side as Royal Ascot 4ths (81) were beaten by 42 runs against Windsor 4ths (123).
