MATT Salter hit a six off the last ball of the match as Eversley won an astonishing T20 by four wickets against Hampshire on Friday, writes Richard Ashton.

The game was played as part of Sean Ervine’s benefit year, and the county side looked well on their way to victory after posting a colossal 255 in their 20 overs.

Mason Crane top scored with 45, while Lewis Sharp was the pick of the attack taking 3-27 from his four overs.

James Magowan (42) led the Eversley reply, before Shane Green (71no) kept his side in the game.

It all came down to the final ball, and Salter held his nerve to hammer it away for a sensational victory.
