READING FC are the third highest spenders on agents' fees in the Championship over the past year.

Royals forked out nearly £2.4 million between October 2014 and September 2015 which covered two transfer windows.

The club also changed manager during that period when Steve Clarke replaced Nigel Adkins on December 16 last year.

Only Cardiff City (£2.8m) and Fulham (£2.7m) paid out more on fees in the Championship, with Reading spending £3,000 more than QPR (£2.3m), who visit the Madesjki Stadium this Thursday night (8pm ko, live Sky Sports).

Royals made wholesale changes behind the scenes during the 12 month period after Clarke replaced almost his entire backroom staff.

He also released six players including big-earning trio Royston Drenthe, Pavel Pogrebnyak and Danny Guthrie in a bid to ease the wage bill.

However, Clarke also brought in 12 new players of his own over the summer, six of which were loan deals.
