Bracknell Town manager Keith Pennicott-Bowen is confident his side will soon start lifting themselves up the table.

They are left rooted at the foot of Hellenic League Premier Division after losing their first five fixtures, but Penn?icott-Bowen ? is refusing to hit the panic button at Larges Lane.

"I am not worried about it, as it's a long season," he said. ? ? "We still have 32 more games to come, so there is plenty of time to starting picking up points.

"At the moment our target must be to get out of the bottom four and then go from there.

"I am sure we can do that although every game is tough in this league."

Penn?icott-Bowen added: "At the start of the season we were forced to play three or four 16 year olds, which is not ideal to play them all at the same time. But we now have a few more experienced players coming back and this will help."

While his side struggled in the league, the same could not be said for their cup form.

They got through the opening two rounds of the FA Cup before going out in gallant fashion at Shortwood United last Saturday - losing 4-3 to the Southern League Division 1 outfit after conceding three goals in the opening 35 minutes.

Robins were also successful in the first qualifying round of the FA Vase, as well as the Hellenic League Floodlit Cup ?, where they hammered Rayners Lane 4-0 on Tuesday of last week thanks largely to a first-half hat-trick from Martin Bradshaw.

And the in-form winger followed up with another two goals at Shortwood with Shane Cooper-Clark also on target.

"It was good to see Martin get on the scoresheet again," said the Bracknell boss. "Shane is always a threat and now we have another threat ?

in Martin, which is good.

"We also have James King coming back from injury, and so have a few more options for the team, and that is another reason why I think we will soon start collecting league points."

Pennicott-Bowen will also be encouraged by his side's spirited performance at Shortwood. After a nightmare start, they recovered well enough to go in at half-time at 3-2 ? and were back in the picture.?

?However, they conceded a fourth goal early in the second half and saw their keeper Garry Aulsberry save a penalty before Bradshaw reduced the deficit with his second and Town's fourth.

"The chaps did well; they fought their hardest," said Pennicott-Bowen. "It is a long way to come and we got caught out early on, but the guys showed belief and at half-time we were right back in the game. I was really pleased with their effort and application.

"In the end we were on the wrong end of the scoreline but we came up against a good Step 4 team. They have a big budget which enables them to bring in players from a distance to play for them."

Robins, who were scheduled to visit Milton United in the league last night, are at home to Brackley Town Saints this Saturday.

They will be away to Alton Town in the second qualifying round of the Vase on October 3.

?Pennicott-Bowen concluded: "We're still in the FA Vase, as well as the (Hellenic) Floodlit Cup and the Berks and Bucks Trophy, so we have a lot to look forward to, but that said improving our league position must be our main priority, and I am confident we will soon be picking up points."
