They are two points adrift of their neighbours, so an Oxon win will give them top spot and a home tie in the quarter-finals.

A Berkshire victory will also leave them with six points and, if Herefordshire beat Staffordshire, then three teams will finish level on points.

Even if they lose, Berks could still finish runners-up in the group, but for that to happen they will need Herefordshire to lose to Staffs. The top two in the group qualify for the last eight of this national one-day competition.

So, with several permutations, it is likely that the final placings will be decided on run rate.

Only Buckinghamshire are out of the running in this group following four defeats.

Berkshire head coach Tom Lambert said: “It is all to play for on Sunday and we know what we have to do.” Finchampstead teenager Callum Gregory retains his place in the squad. Last Sunday, he was one of six youngsters from his club who played for Berkshire Academy when they lost to Surrey Academy at Kidmore End.

Berks bowled out the visitors for 180 before being dismissed themselves for 125 with Finch’s Craig Hodges making top score of 30.
