Having already won the Premier Division, Fernhill set about sealing the double and they got off to the perfect start when an early strike from Lewis Burns was deflected past Jamie Scott in the Farmer goal to give Fernhill the lead.

Farmer saw their subsequent pressure pay off when Nick Bale converted a penalty to level things up at 1-1 before the break.

The next goal also came from the penalty spot as Fernhill skipper Sam Whiting gave them the lead when a Farmer defender was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area as they defended a free kick.

Farmer rallied well but couldn’t create a clear cut opening and Fernhill’s Charlie Evanson then wrapped things up moments from the end.

Ron Bennett from the Berks & Bucks FA and BTDSFL’s Neville Batt presented the trophies and the man of the match award, which went to Farmer’s diminutive and hard-working midfielder Craig Gurney.

The game at Bracknell Town FC’s Larges Lane ground was once again well attended with more than 200 spectators present.

Elsewhere, Finchampstead Athletic Sunday saw their dreams of success in the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup final crumble as they went 3-0 down inside the first 15 minutes against Thames Valley Sunday League side Wraysbury Bentons.

Leon Mannion gave Finch a lifeline just before the break, but a fourth goal for Bentons from the penalty spot soon after the restart allowed Wraysbury to control proceedings.

Finch grabbed a late consolation to make it 4-2 but the damage had been done early on, particularly conceding headed goals from the first two corners within the first seven minutes. This was especially disappointing as Finch’s defence has been so well organised and outstanding all season.

In Division One, Sunningdale & Wentworth Reserves warmed up for their two forthcoming cup finals next weekend with a 6-5 win at home to Ashridge Park.

In an action packed first half, S&W raced into a 3-0 lead before Ashridge levelled at 3-3 before the break.

Sunningdale then went 6-3 up before Ashridge again fought back to 6-5 to make it a tense final few minutes for the home side.

Dean Hartley (2), Alan Matthias, Davey Blackmore, Chris Hollis and Scott Ellis scored the goals for Sunningdale, who had previously lost an epic contest 5-4 to Hurricanes last Thursday.

Ashridge Park were beaten 6-2 by Waverley Rangers that evening, while Bracknell Manics beat basement boys Bracknell Falcons 3-1.

In the only other Division One game played, Parks and AFC Crowthorne were also involved in an 11 goal thriller with the former coming out on top 6-5.

In a twist at the top of Division Two, Junior Cup Finalists Braybrooke Athletic surprisingly lost 1-0 at third placed Berks County.

The result means with one game left to play, Sandhurst FFC – who were beaten 3-2 at Winnersh Town on Thursday –will be crowned champions unless Braybrooke can secure a 23-goal swing in the game between the two sides on Sunday.

Bracknell Cavaliers secured fourth spot on Sunday with a 3-2 win at home to Hope & Anchor.
