The Czech star has penned a two-year deal with the Bees, having enjoyed an oustanding debut season in the English Premier Ice Hockey League with Milton Keynes Lightning.

Kostourek was ever present in his first EPIHL campaign, having iced in all 48 league games and three play-off games.

He racked up 39 goals and 32 assists for 71 points which left him leading the Milton Keynes side in both goals and points scored.

His numbers were good enough to rank him sixth in the league overall in regular season points scored and tied second for regular season goals scored.

Delighted head coach Lukas Smital said: “I am immensely pleased to have secured the signing of a player of the calibre of Milan. He showed exactly what he can do in this league last season and his talents are obvious for everyone to see. He certainly knows where the net is but is also an unselfish, hardworking team player.

“It is a huge signing for us and one that I am delighted to have finalised.” He continued: “Milan is a proven points scorer, not just in this league but throughout his career.

“His addition to the team will undoubtedly give the side a huge lift and I cannot wait to see what he can do in the Black, White and Gold of Bracknell.” Kostourek was playing in Poland’s top tier before he arrived in the United Kingdom, and was part of the Polish Cup champion side Cracovia Krakow in 2013/14.

Prior to that he had spent the vast majority of his career in the Czech leagues, with brief stints in Italy and Slovakia too.

He has led his team in scoring at both U20 level and senior level, on three separate occasions and was also top scorer in the Czech second tier league in 2007/08.

Speaking about the latest addition to the Bees’ roster, general manager Ben Beeching said: “It’s a big moment for us to add someone of his calibre to the club, and he brings a vast array of experience and scoring skills that will be a massive asset as we continue our rebuild.” He added: “Offence was clearly a weak spot for us last season, and Milan will play a big part in giving the coaching staff the options to address that part of the team.

“I’m sure that the Bee Army will join me in wishing him a long and successful Bees career.” Bracknell have already secured the re-signings of player-coach Lukas Smital, defenceman Lewis Turner, netminder Alex Mettam and forward Matt Towalski, as well as the arrival of David Savage from Guildford Flames.

However, they have confirmed Czech imports Radek Hubacek and Pavel Strycek will not be returning to the club next season.
