The children have been learning about dragons, including the history of knights and castles as well as reptiles like Komodo dragons.
The children discovered that Dan the Dragon had kidnapped Princess Elsa, from the smash-hit Frozen, and he wouldn’t let her go.
Tamara Brown, assistant head teacher, said: “We left a series of clues for them to follow and they had to write notes to Elsa to let them know what they were doing to try and rescue her.
“They had to work together and use their knowledge to work out how they could find her.
“They learnt about the knight’s code of honour, we even drew up our own code of conduct, which they all had to sign up for before being knighted at assembly.” At the end of the day Elsa visited the school in person to thank the students for their hard work. When the day ended the children joined in a reprisal of the unforgettable Let it go.
Mrs Brown said: “These kind of topics never seem to go out of fashion with children and it’s a really effective way of helping them to learn.”
