London Road between Wiltshire Road and Sleaford Road is closed to traffic travelling out of the town centre, but was due to reopen on October 23.

The closure was to allow Thames Water contractors to undertake urgent sewer repairs, but they have had to extend the works as pipes were found to be far more damaged than previously thought.

The works are now expected to be completed by November 21.

The company say it is easier to extend the works in progress now rather than coming back at a later date to continue the repairs.

Traffic heading towards Wokingham on London Road is unaffected by the closure.

The diversion for traffic going out of Wokingham town centre is via Wiltshire Road, Warren House Road, Keephatch Road and Binfield Road.
