For foodies there will be chef demonstrations led by Giancarlo Caldesi, a regular face on the BBC. There will be two large marquees for exhibitions, and hot food stallholders along with continental-style benches and tables.
For real ale lovers there will be 60 craft ales and perries along with bar drinks supplied by Wokingham Lions, with 50 per cent of the profits going to good causes.
There will be music acts over the weekend and face painting for youngsters, with ‘make and take’ activities.
Meanwhile, the much-respected Urban Artist Pistol has organised 10 contestants from around Europe to paint a hoarding on Saturday, August 23, and concluding Sunday, August 24, as part of a new feature, Wokingham Paint Jam.
Members of the public can also sign their name on a hoarding in return for a small donation to the Ollie Young Foundation.
Tickets for Wokingham Festival are £12.50 for the weekend, and available at Wokingham Town Hall information centre, or via www.wokinghamfestival.co.uk/tickets Day tickets are £4.75 in advance or £6 on the gate, evening only are £5.50 in advance or £7 on the gate.
Accompanied children go free. Only guide dogs and hearing dogs are allowed entry to food events.
