A GROUP of colleagues will be completing a charity challenge raising money for Sebastian’s Action Trust.

Ross Woodruffe, Jack Trusler, Jemma White, Hrshi Kapoor and Adam Hayward, from Airinmar, are doing a 27-mile trek in aid of Sebastian’s Action Trust.

A team of five employees from Finchampstead-based company, Airinmar, will be undertaking a 27-mile sponsored walk, named TrekFest 2014.

Adam Hayward from Finchampstead, Jemma White from Wokingham, Ross Woodruffe from Reading, and fellow employees Jack Trusler and Hrshi Kapoor, are joining together to raise money for the charity, so far raising £500.

The firm selects one charity each quarter to fundraise for but has chosen Sebastian’s Action Trust to be the recipient for six months. So far, more than £4,000 has been raised for the charity overall.

Mr Woodruffe, a warranty engineer, said: “The charity was voted for by all of the Airinmar employees and this was the clear winner.

“I think it shows just how much everyone at Airinmar supports the work the trust does that we’ve been fundraising for them for more than twice as long as we would do normally for a chosen charity.

“I personally wanted to be involved because I felt strongly about the charity and I thought this was one of the best ways I could support them.”

The event, on Saturday, June 7, will wind its way through the Brecon Beacons, taking in the highest peaks in the Beacons and South Wales – but must be completed within 12 hours.

Sebastian’s Action Trust provides holidays for very sick children and their families, and was set up in memory of Sebastian Gates, who died in 2003 from cancer.
