A CONCERT held to raise money for the Wokingham Scouts and Guides took place on Sunday.

Lee Woodward conducts the band.

St Sebastian Wokingham Band performed a musical treat for dozens of guests in the Berkshire Room, at Sindlesham Court, during the afternoon.

The annual concert was played to commemorate Cllr Martin Bishop’s first year as town mayor, and all money raised will go towards his chosen charity.

Speaking about Wokingham Scouts and Guides, he said: “These are wonderful organisations that teach young people all the values we hold dear in our society. My aim is to raise their profile and I hope my endeavours will be of benefit to them.”

Cllr Bishop was joined by his mayoress, Yvonne.

The band played music from the world of film, military marches and other popular favourites to keep the crowd entertained.

They also featured the programme from their upcoming performance at the Crawley Entertainment Contest, where they are the defending champions in the ‘B’ section.
