Charlee Bennett, 25, from Foxglove Close, is once again biting the bullet to complete the ‘Live Below the Line’ challenge, aimed at raising awareness of the millions of people living in poverty.
Having undertaken the challenge last year, she was inspired by a stay in Zimbabwe in 2012, where the reality of food poverty struck her. Now vegan, she says this year will be even harder – as she is determined to only eat ethically sourced foods during the challenge, from Monday to Sunday next week.
Ms Bennet, pictured, who works for Progressio, a charity working with disadvantaged people around the world, said: “I’ve decided to buy all the food at the beginning of the week like last year, but I’m taking it one step further this time as I won’t be using branded economy stuff or ready meals, and I will be trying to avoid supermarkets.
Donations will go to Progressio. To sponsor her, visit www.livebelowtheline.com/me/charleebennett2784
