TWO teenage boys were taken to hospital last night after a street brawl involving two gangs of youths in Sandhurst.
The fight broke out at about 11.40pm in Victoria Road, Owlsmoor, and a 17-year-old boy who was battered in the face will require lengthy treatment for his injuries.
He was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital and allowed home in the early hours of the morning but doctors will have to wait until the bruising subsides before they can decide what treatment will be required..
A second 17-year-old boy was taken to Frimley Park Hospital for treatment to a head injury but was also discharged by doctors.
Two other 17-year-olds, from Wokingham and Sandhurst, were arrested on suspicion of causing an affray. One was freed on police bail until later today and the second must return to speak to officers tomorrow.
Detectives say they are treating the injuries suffered by the two teenagers as grievous bodily harm.
Extra patrols are being mounted in the area to reassure neighbours and Maidenhead-based Detective Sergeant Jonathan Groenen said: “I am appealing for anyone with any information or who witnessed this incident to contact police.
“If anyone has any concerns, please feel free to speak to an officer.” Call Det Sgt Groenen on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
