MOTORISTS are warned there will be road closures tomorrow (Sunday) as the popular Wokingham half marathon takes place.

A total of 3000 runners will take part in the contest.

Bell Foundry Lane, Warren House Road and Maidenhead Road will all be closed for the race, while Forest Road will be shut from the A321 Twyford Road to Binfield Road.

Darvills Lane will be closed to traffic and Hungerford Road will be shut between Darvills Lane and the B3018. Hinton Road, in Hurst will be shut, as will Broadcommon Road, from Wokingham Road to Nelsons Lane.

Towards the end of the course, Islandstone Lane will be closed from Broadcommon Road to Nelsons Lane, which will be closed apart from the section to Pound Lane. Broadcommon Lane will be shut as well.

The race starts at Cantley Park, in Twyford Road, at 10am. The road closures will be in operation between 9am and 2pm.

Traffic is expected to be heavy between 8.30am and the start of the race, and between 1pm and 2pm.
