PERFUME and jewellery were stolen after thieves smashed a window to break into a house in Winnersh.

The offenders broke in to the house, in Robin Hood Lane, and stole two bottles of perfume, a chain, a white gold necklace, a pendent and a number of pieces of costume jewellery. The owner, who was in the house at the time, was alerted to the offenders' presence when they heard a noise at the front door at about 3.15pm on Wednesday January 23.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to the crime, and said a red transit-style van was seen during the incident.
