£1.1m solar panels switch on in Wokingham
A £1.1m flagship solar panel project aimed at saving more than £90,000 a year across the borough is up and running.
Wokingham Borough Council this week announced the completion of the scheme, having installed around 3,000 panels on the roofs of 24 public buildings - including Wokingham Youth Centre, Wokingham Library, Emmbrook Junior School and the Acorn Centre in Woosehill.
The council will receive up to £4,000-a-year from Government for each building and also expects to save money on energy bills.
