AFTER a six-week closure, Station Road in Wokingham has reopened this morning (Monday) but only in one direction. Drivers can get from the station towards Shute End/Reading Road but not from Reading Road towards the station and drivers have been advised to try to avoid the road this week.

In addition, traffic is not allowed to turn right from Barkham Road, across the level crossing, into Wellington Road. Drivers will instead have to travel up Station Road and travel round the one-way system via Rectory Road, Wiltshire Road, Peach Street, Denmark Street and Wellington Road.

Station Road is expected to reopen fully next Monday, September 10.
