FASTER broadband may be on its way for residents in Finchampstead.

The constituency's MP, Dr Phillip Lee, met representatives from BT on Wednesday last week and said he had been told the Eversley exchange, which serves Finchampstead, is due to be included in a £2.5bn upgrade programme.

He said work is due to be completed this month, with updates available at www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/where-and-when

Dr Lee said afterwards: "I am hopeful that the work undertaken by BT and the government to provide fibre optic broadband will improve the situation in the Thames Valley and Finchampstead considerably and allow business and individuals in my constituency to thrive."

Some residents may not be able to receive the fibre services if the nearest cabinet is too far from their homes or can not be immediately upgraded due to its location.
