NEIGHBOURS living in run-down flats earmarked for demolition say they "can't wait to leave."
Residents of the flats in Wokingham's Eustace Crescent - dubbed by tenants as "Useless Crescent" - say they are fed up with the damp in the buildings and its bad reputation.
At a meeting on Thursday last week, Wokingham Borough Council's executive gave the green light to move forward with plans to regenerate the area by releasing a sum of money, not disclosed because it is "commercially sensitive," to continue with the relocation of residents and the buy-out of five leaseholders.
Councillors also decided that a competition will be held to find a new name for the site once the redevelopment is completed in honour of the Jubilee year.
