Cllr Chris Turrell, Mayor of Bracknell Forest, has organised the event in Wokingham in aid of his charity of the year, Age Concern Bracknell Forest (ACBF), which runs a day centre in Forest Park as well as offering day trips and advice.

Cllr Turrell said: "People have been asking what my next event will be, and here it is! We are promised a tempting array of dishes, and this looks like being another very good evening at a good price. There will also be a raffle. Why not get together with friends and make up a table?"

The buffet will be held at the Tamarind Tree in Peach Street at 7.30pm on Monday, March 19. Tickets are £17.50 per person, available from Sue Brunt at the mayor's office via sue.brunt@bracknell-forest.gov.uk or 01344 352013.

The mayor's previous fundraising has included a masked ball at the Coppid Beech Hotel in Binfield on earlier this month that raised £1,300.

ACBF is an independent local charity - contact it on 01344 428074 or visit www.ageconcernbracknell.org.uk
