SUNLIGHT that reflected off a mirror is believed to have started a bedroom blaze today (Thursday).

Crews from Bracknell and Crowthorne fire stations were called to a house in Thomas Lane, Finchampstead, at noon after the female resident spotted the blaze.

Firefighters were there for two hours.

Watch manager Martin Fowler, from Bracknell fire station, said: "The room was severely damaged and the upstairs of the house was smoke damaged.

"We think the sunlight reflected off the shaving mirror, that is the only possible cause we could relate it too. It was just an unfortunate accident."

He added that no one was hurt.
