A NEW face is in charge at Bracknell Police Station for the next six months as the current top cop has taken up a temporary post covering all of East Berkshire.
Chief Inspector Simon Bowden, Area Commander for Bracknell Forest, announced on Monday he would be taking on the role of Acting Superintendent with BCU responsibility for Berkshire East with immediate effect.
The newly-created role, expected to last six months, means Bracknell Forest deputy commander Inspector Mark Harling will become Acting Chief Inspector.
Supt Bowden said: "I shall miss Bracknell dreadfully and I have really enjoyed the last two years here.
"I am excited about having this new role but I am looking forward to returning in six months."
