TRAIN passengers were faced with delays on Monday evening after a group of youths were reportedly throwing objects at trains outside Wokingham station.
Services between Ascot and Reading were delayed between 5.30pm and 8pm following reports of trespassers on the line.
British Transport Police (BTP) officers responded to the call, but were unable to locate the offenders.
They are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident to come forward.
A spokesperson for BTP said: “We were called at 5.12pm to Wokingham station [on Monday] following reports that a group of youths were trespassing on the line and throwing objects at trains.
“Officers attended and conducted an area search, however were unable to locate the group. Enquiries are now being made.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by sending a text to 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 435 of 12/02/2018.
“Trespassing onto the tracks is extremely dangerous. The railway is a dangerous environment with trains travelling at high speeds – trespassing can be lethal and it is never worth the risk.”
