THE TOWN’s MP met up with the Prime Minister last week during her visit to a housing estate.
As part of the trip, Theresa May discussed the government’s policy on helping young people to buy their homes, and met up with Wokingham MP John Redwood, who undertook a tour of the development with her.
Mr Redwood said the trip highlighted the benefits of the government’s policy to remove Stamp Duty on many homes last year, which enabled first-time buyers to get on the property ladded.
Mr Redwood posted on Twitter: “I joined the Prime Minister to see the new homes at Montague Park in Wokingham.
“The visit highlighted the way the removal of Stamp Duty on many first time buyer homes, allied to Help to Buy, are enabling more young people to buy their first home.”
