A REVELLER racially abused a police officer who had been called to a Wokingham venue after he punched a doorman.

Campbell Cooper, of Sorrel Close, Wokingham, admitted one count of assault by beating and one count of racially/religiously aggravated harassment without violence.

He stood at Reading Magistrates Court on Monday, January 8 accused of punching a doorman before racially abusing a police officer.

Magistrates heard that Cooper had punched the doorman at The Gig House, Wokingham, on December 2, before being escorted out of the building by the doorman’s colleague.

After the 22-year-old was taken outside, he was then arrested by police officers.

When he was arrested, he was put into the back of the police car.

The prosecutor told the court: “The police records show that Cooper was complying with officers, and was polite to them.

“Then, when he was put into the car, he started to get abusive.

“He said ‘you should be ashamed, I bet your families are ashamed’.

“I bet your wife cheats on you, and your mum’s got a disease’.

“’Why don’t you f*** off back to Iran, I hear it’s nice there.’

“Your mum comes from an inbred s*******”

Cooper was then taken to the police station, but due to his aggressive nature, he was held overnight in a cell.
