ROADWORKS and slight travel disruptions will continue throughout December as work progresses at the former TRL site.

Legal & General Homes is currently building 1,000 homes, a neighbourhood centre and primary school where the Transport and Research Laboratory used to stand in Crowthorne.

In a letter written to residents regarding progress on the Old Wokingham Road site, the development company outlined road closures and works coming up in the Christmas period.

The letter read: "As we head towards Christmas our focus is on minimising disruption to local traffic while continuing the highway improvement works.

"To this end we have been able to progress the Old Wokingham Road/Nine Mile Ride roundabout works without further use of 4-way temporary lights as originally planned.

"As you will be aware, the sewer connection works were reinstated with a temporary road surface. This was to enable us to plane out and reinstate the full lane width in order to leave a better surface. To ensure that the final resurfacing work is carried out as quickly and safely as possible, it is necessary for a road closure to be in place for 2 nights.

"Weather permitting; this will be in place overnight on December 19 and again on December 20, in both cases between 8.30pm and 5am."

Come the new year plans for construction work at the junction of Old Wokingham Road and Bracknell will be revealed in the new year.
