A FORMER town mayor and councillor has died at the age of 100.
Fred Clark, who was Wokingham Town Council’s representative in 1989, 1990 and 1999, died at the Lovat House care home where he spent the last nine months of his life.
The Conservative councillor died on October 16. He served for years with the town council and was heavily involved in town twinning.
After moving to Wokingham from Grimsby, Clark became the chairman of the Wokingham District Association for the Elderly.
He was a father of two children Martin and Jane, and had five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
He was married to his wife Elsie for 69 years until her sad death in 2008.
His funeral will be held on Friday October 27 at All Saints Church in Wiltshire Road, Wokingham, starting at 2pm.
Guests are invited to make a donation to the current mayor’s charity - WADE - through undertakers Miles & Daughters, based in Reading Road, Winnersh.
