SUMMER is barely over, but already news has emerged about the Wokingham Winter Carnival.
The chairman of the carnival, Dave Donaldson, has issued his resignation, following seven years in the post.
He will be replaced by Philip Mirfin, who was elected at the same committee meeting.
The council was quick to assure residents that the beloved carnival will still take place this year, despite the current redevelopment of two different sections of the town centre.
This year, the event will run on Sunday, November 26, and will take place around the town centre redevelopment.
The winter festival runs yearly in the town centre and has done for more than a decade.
The carnival involves fayre activities, such as tombolas, carnival rides, live music, food and drink stands.
More information about this year's event will be released in due course.
