HEARTLESS robbers stole hundreds of pounds from the scouts in a six-minute raid.

In the early hours of Sunday morning the Pinewood bar and cafe was broken into by a gang dressed in tracksuits, topped with balaclavas and gloves.

Pauline Jordan, manager of the cafe, lost close to £1,000 in the robbery, money that had been raised for the scout troop she runs.

She said: "On Sunday morning, early hours at half past three, our alarm went off, which was an intruder alarm.

"It went off in two places, so the police were called, and then we were called.

"When we got here we'd been broken into. They'd kicked in the front door,  got into the building and went straight into my office.

"They'd absolutely ransacked my office, pulling drawers out, looking for money."

Mrs Jordan had hidden £800 raised for the scouts in one of her files, which was quickly found by the burglars.

"I thought I had it hidden so well," she continued.

"While one was in my office rifling through, the other two continued on and bypassed three doors, which gave me the impression they knew where they were going.

"Luckily, this was all caught on CCTV, because we have very good CCTV. Unfortunately they all wore balaclavas and gloves, so there's no evidence of fingerprints or whatever.

"We've been here nine years and never had any sort of bother whatsoever."

The money had been earmarked to buy two big tents, which the group can no longer afford.

"I hope they'll be caught, because we have to stand up to this sort of thing," Mrs Jordan said.

"The business is insured but I've lost that scout money."

Now a Gofundme page has been set up to recoup the stolen money, which you can find at www.gofundme.com/scoutmoney
