Young athletes have benefited from a batch of funding to aid their training.
The 14 athletes from Wokingham have received the special funding from Wokingham Borough Council.
The 'Sports Sponsorship Grant' is given to the under-18 athletes, and is awarded by Wokingham Borough Sports Partnership fund.
The Sports Partnership board reviews all applications and decides who should be eligable for a grant, which is intended to cover coaching, travel and competition costs.
The athletes are from a mix of sports, including trampolining, rowing, athletics, gymnastics, cycling and badminton.
Cllr Norman Jorgensen, executive member for environment, sports, environmental health, leisure and libraries, said: “I wish these young athletes well as they progress in their sport and look forward to hearing about their achievements.”
Peter Evans, chairman of the Sports Partnership Board, said: “I am always amazed at the high standard achieved by the local young athletes and it is a pleasure to be involved in helping them with the costs of training to help them go on to even bigger and better things.”
