New council houses are more popular than ever according to Wokingham Borough Council.
A study carried out by the council has shown that 84% of residents are satisfied overall with their homes, while last year it was just 80%.
Cllr Julian McGhee-Sumner, Executive Member for Adults’ Services, Health, Wellbeing and housing, said: “We are really pleased with the feedback we have received from people moving into their new homes.
“This is a huge vote of confidence in the housing policies of this Conservative Council.
“We are committed to providing social housing for those who need it, but we will also continue to build high-quality and affordable housing for those who want to fulfil the core Conservative ambition of owning their own home.”
The study was designed to ask residents of Wokingham who had recently moved into new-build properties how happy they are with their houses and the local area.
As well as enjoying their homes, 92% also stated that the buildings and streets are attractive, with 98% claiming the rooms in their homes have adequate space in them.
