FAMILIES are getting on their bikes to raise £16k for a number of charities.

This year’s Three Counties Cycle Ride will see families and friends take part in the charity cycling fun day on Sunday, June 4.

The event was launched in Bracknell in March and was attended by Borough Mayor Cllr Tony Virgo, members of the Rotary Club of Bracknell and cyclists.

Bracknell News:

Three picturesque routes will be on offer for the riders - 54 miles for the experienced riders, a shorter route of 33 miles and a very short route of 15 miles intended for families with young children.

All routes will start and finish in the grounds of Garth Hill College, with entry fees covering the cost of certificates, medals and shirts.

The main charities riders will be raising money for this year are: Macmillan Cancer Support, Thames Valley Air Ambulance, the British Heart Foundation, the Stroke Association and the Bracknell Rotary Club Charity Fund.

The event also supports charities and groups that help the ride to take place including Scouts, Boys Brigade, Girl guiding, Rotary Clubs and Alzheimer’s Society.

Well over £600,000 pounds has been raised for charities since the cycle ride was founded in 1983 thanks to the many cyclists who have participated over the years.
