A 35-YEAR-OLD man was left with cuts and bruises and a 21-year-old woman had her handbag and mobile stolen in Wokingham on Sunday, in two separate robberies.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for information after the two incidents, which they believe are linked.

The first happened between 12.25am and 12.35am between Easthampstead Road (West) car park and Denton Road when the 35-year-old victim, was walking in an alleyway.

He was hit from behind and knocked to the floor by two men, who then demanded some of his posessions.

The victim handed over his wallet and the two men run away.

He suffered cuts and brusies and was treated at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

The second incident took place between 12.45am and 12.50am.

A 21-year-old woman, was in Rose Court alleyway walking towards Rectory Close when she was approached by a man and threatened.

He then took her bag and mobile phone before running away into Rose Street shouting, which police believe means there was a second person nearby.

The thief is described as white, 5ft 10, with a slim build and short light brown hair.

He was wearing a dark jacket.

There is no description available of the second offender at this time.

Investigating officer PC Zoe Stolarski, from Bracknell Local CID, said: "These robberies occurred in Wokingham during the early hours of Sunday morning within the space of about half an hour.

"I would like to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything out of the ordinary in the areas around the time of these offences."
