Electricity suppliers will be closing a Wokingham road for urgent investigations tonight.
Loddon Bridge Road will be closed between 11.30pm and 5.30am tomorrow morning to allow contractors for Scottish and Southern Energy to work in safety.
The Road will be closed between the junctions with Wokingham Road and Coppice Road.
A spokesman for Scottish and Southern Energy said: "The work we are doing is the very early part of a project to put in a new underground electricity cable.
"We are boring holes to test the road and the surface."
A diversion via Wokingham Road, The Bader Way Interchange, The Bader Way, Miles Way, Spitfire Way, Headley Road (east) and Loddon Bridge Road (northern section), or this route reversed, will be in effect.
