AN investigation has been launched after a woman was killed by a lorry in Wokingham last week.

Emergency services were rushed to Station Road at 2pm to reports an elderly pedestrian had been hit by a lorry.

The woman, in her 60s, suffered multiple life threatening injuries during the collision.

She was rushed to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford by a land ambulance but died later that night.

Station Road was closed as a rapid response vehicle, two ambulance officers and an ambulance were scrambled to the road.

An air ambulance was unable to reach her due to bad weather.

Thames Valley Police are now appealing for anyone with information regarding the crash to come forwards to help with their investigation.

Thames Valley Police is investigating the collision and anyone with information which could assist the investigation is asked to call PC 5241 Simon Pink from Three Mile Cross Roads Policing on 101.

The woman's next of kin have been informed.
