A WOMAN has been seriously injured after being hit by a container truck in Wokingham.
David Gallagher from the South Central Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics are currently treating a woman for multiple life-threatening injuries, following the incident just before 2pm in Station Road.
He confirmed a rapid response vehicle, two ambulance officers and an ambulance crew are on the scene, as well as an air ambulance car, as a helicopter is unable to fly due to bad weather.
A spokeswoman for Thames Valley Police confirmed officers are currently in Station Road following reports of a serious collision.
Drivers are advised to avoid the road as it is blocked.
Police are diverting Barkham traffic along Molly Millars Lane.
In a separate incident, British Transport Police officers had to escort a male from the tracks at 1.56pm.
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “BTP officers were called to Wokingham station following reports of a person on the tracks.
“The man, aged 35, was removed from the tracks and has subsequently been arrested on suspicion of trespassing on the railways and suspicion of possessing Class A drugs.”
All the roads around Station Road which were closed earlier due to a serious collision are being reopened now. Thank you for your patience.
