Courtney Buses has been shortlisted for a national award for the seventh time in nine years.

The bus firm, who recently took steps to take over some routes in Bracknell following the departure of First from the town, have been named as in the running for the Top Independent Operator in the UK Bus Awards. 

The nomination is open to operators of local registered bus services with fewer than 100 vehicles which recognises and rewards companies for a number of reasons such as customer service, commitment to promote environmental sustainability, imaginative marketing initiatives or achievements and innovative ideas.

The company has this year funded an developed a new smart card system for two of its corporate business parks and will be rolled out to three other business parks this year.

It has also introduced a range of Connect Cards within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and have initiated a mobile app so passengers readily access information. 

In July 2015 they launched their new services after winning a contract with Bracknell Forest Council and also introduced a new bus service for Legoland Windsor.

Courtney will now be operating buses which connect with services between Bracknell, Wokingham and Maidenhead.
