Fire crews were rushed to a school after blaze broke out in its main sports hall.
Fire engines from Wokingham, Bracknell and Wokingham Road were sent to Emmbrook Junior School early this morning to tackle a blaze in a light fitting.
Crew manager Russell Gascoyne of Wokingham fire station said the children had already been evacuated before they arrived.
He said: "We had a ceiling fire in Emmbrook Junior School in a sports hall light fitting.
"We used two breathing apparatus, two hose reels and positive pressure ventilation, a large fan, to clear out the smoke as quickly as possible."
He said the children had to be sent home early as the fire fighers had to isolate the electrics.
They were at the scene for around an hour.
