NEARLY 200 people swung by Finchfest 2015. Crowds at The Queen’s Oak were entertained by a host of live music acts, a raffle and even a hog roast.
Sunday’s entertainment raised around £1,000 to help send the Finchampstead Scouts on a trip to the International Scout Centre at Kandersteg in Switzerland.
Dave Stock, fundraising coordinator for the 1st Finchampstead Scout Troop said they have raised more than £11,000 of the £17,000 needed to fund the trip.
He said: “The day was brilliant. We had wonderful weather which made a big difference and the bands went down very well.
“There were approximately 180 paying guests but there were probably around 200 because a lot of people were in the pub’s beer garden anyway.”
The bands included a mixture of genres and styles ranging from a brass band to a DJ set.
Acoustic trio Spanish Radio returned to Finchampstead after performing as part of a larger band last year.
Finchampstead-based Blondie tribute band Atomic Rapture thrilled crowds with an hour long set before headliners Hidden Agenda took to the stage.
Mr Stock said: “They were absolutely fantastic, they are semi professional, playing weddings, etc, but they gave their time freely.”
