Oh deer. Oki the Woky deer has returned to the Ormonde Road allotments.

The roe deer returned to the site adjacent to the railway lines just hours after the announcement she hadn't been seen for five days.

Yesterday the town council announced they were confident the pesky roe deer had left the allotments, where she had made a name for herself by nibbling vegetables.

Jan Nowecki, Wokingham Town Council's clerk, said earlier today that Oki had been seen back on the site just hours after the announcement.

She sadi: "It's very very difficult and we did umm and ahh yesterday about saying she had gone.

"The instant the announcement we thought she had left was online Paul, [a town council officer] was down there checking and saw her."

In the wake of a 158,000 signature petition Wokingham Town Council has announced it won't shoot the deer.

This was only one of the options considered to remove the deer. Discussions on Oki's future continue with the town's ammenities committee due to make a decision on Tuesday, September 1.
