The year 11 maths exam, held this morning was unaffected. A spokeswoman for the school said: "The situation is that we have an exam on at the moment and that has to be our priority."
The school buses collected students at 11.00. The pupils were advised to make their normal journey home.
An engineer was called out to the Emmbrook Road school earlier today but was unable to fix the problem before the school had to be shut.
Emmbrook school is expected to reopen tomorrow.
