The annual festivities return, with hotdogs, drinks and glow-in-the-dark gifts among some of the things on offer at different events.

Blue Mountain Golf Club hosts its popular display on Sunday evening, as does John Nike Leisure Centre.

Ascot Racecourse hosts its display at the end of the first meeting of the Jumps season – the United House Group raceday – on Saturday.

After a day of fairground and pony rides, which are free of charge until 4pm and £1 a go thereafter, the fireworks will start at 6pm. Last year the Ascot event raised £33,500 for charity. Nick Smith, head of communications at Ascot Racecourse, said: “The United House raceday is always a popular day for families and groups of friends. It is excellent value with free entry for under 18s and is something a little bit special to celebrate bonfire night. You get the benefit of some good racing during the afternoon, with the fairground and fireworks running into the evening. All profits generated from the fairground attractions are donated to local charities.” Sandhurst Town Council’s display at Memorial Park this Saturday will host several guests, with West End singer Denise Pearson counting down to the display and X Factor contestants Concept performing after the fireworks at 8pm.

The fireworks form part of the free Family Arts Festival, which will include performances from the Sandhurst and District Corps of Drums as well as local schools and community groups.

Wokingham’s annual display, at Cantley Field, is being organised by a newly formed group this year. The Wokingham Fireworks Society was founded by members of the Windsor Forest and Thames West Unicorn clubs, the Wokingham Lions Club and the Rotary clubs of Wokingham and Easthampstead, which will donate all the money they raise to charity.

The event, on Saturday, November 8, will be started at 6pm by a torchlit procession from Wokingham town centre to Cantley Field.
