Mobile network operator EE is rolling out super-fast 4G coverage across Sandhurst, which will enable businesses to change the way they operate and increase productivity thanks to the pioneering technology.

With the technology employees will be able to work more effectively while on-the-go, as quicker download speeds – which can be up to five times faster than 3G speeds – enable businesses to send and receive more data in less time.

Firms can also automatically back up documents, images and other files while on the move, using a range of ‘cloud’ applications – where data can be remotely backed up.

The move follows other areas in the UK where companies are already using the technology to digitise their product libraries, work while off-site and share files with clients from anywhere. With 4G, businesses can innovate, get connected and online instantly, rather than waiting two weeks or more for a telephone line and internet connectivity to be installed.

Mike Tomlinson, small business director at EE, said: “4G being five times faster than 3G, businesses on this connection will be able to get more done and become truly mobile.

“More local businesses than ever before will be able to use this new technology to change how they operate and increase their productivity.

“We have helped many businesses with this technology already, such as a plumbing firm in Cheshire, where they have been able to speed up repairs by downloading technical manuals and system diagrams while on the job. Street food sellers in London have also benefited by streaming videos of their food online to entice customers.

“These are just a few examples of how organisations can and are becoming more mobile and productive, and there are many more ways businesses in Sandhurst will be able to use 4G to boost innovation and efficiency.”
