Two attempted burglaries and one burglary took place in the area earlier this month.

At 3am on Wednesday, October 1, offenders attempted to force open the front door of a property in Drake Close, but no items were stolen.

Between 3.30-4.30pm on Saturday, October 4, offenders attempted to force open the front door of a property in Nine Mile Ride, but no items were stolen.

Between 11pm on Sunday, October 12, and 6am on Monday, October 13, offenders forced entry to a property in Little Fryth before stealing a laptop, handbag and cash.

Detective Sergeant Ben Sheriff, from Wokingham Local CID, said: “Since the start of this month there have been an isolated number of reported burglaries and suspicious incidents in the Finchampstead area of Wokingham.

"The offences have taken place during the daytime and overnight, with offenders targeting front doors and windows. We believe these burglaries may be linked but we are keeping all lines of enquiry open at this stage of the investigation."

“We have increased patrols in the area to deter criminal activity and provide reassurance to residents. I would like to remind the public to keep their properties secured at all times.
