The umbrella body Bracknell Forest Voluntary Action (BFVA) is now known as Involve.

A relaunch event attended by representatives from borough groups and local dignitaries took place on Friday at Braybrooke Community Hall in Makepiece Road, Bracknell.

The organisation provides critical support for individuals and many groups in Bracknell.

Core functions include training for volunteers in the borough,  providing administrative and management support for groups, as well as helping them to make applications for grant funding.

Janet Dean, chief officer of Involve, said: “We have changed our name but there is no change in our level of service and no loss of impetus.

“We continue to provide support for the voluntary and community sectors in Bracknell Forest and to work with our partners.

“Involve is for individuals who like to volunteer time, talent and skills and is for employers who like to offer employee time, talent and skills.” The organisation receives grant funding and is a non profit-making organisation which is independent of local and national government.

Speakers at the relaunch event included Bracknell MP Dr Phillip Lee and Tina Varns, community, sustainability and ethical sourcing manager at Waitrose.

The website has been revamped, but it can still be found at www.bfva.org
