Dr Phillip Lee visited Waverley School, Waverley Way, Finchampstead, on Friday, handing out bottles of the white stuff to a reception class, to promote the scheme and the benefits of drinking it milk.
April Herridge, from the independent prep school, said: “We were very pleased to be selected.
“He spoke to the children about where milk comes from and the benefits of drinking it. He chatted to them about what he does and how he works in London near Big Ben with the Prime Minister. They really enjoyed it, they all sat and listened.”
Bracknell MP Dr Lee, who is also a practising GP, said: “For me, as a doctor, it is extremely important to promote the health benefits of drinking milk.”
His visit was one of a number of trips made by MPs nationwide to schools as part of the World School Milk Day initiative, which is organised by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations.
