Boehringer Ingelheim donates £250 to held fund scouts trip
Published: 1 Sep 2013 16:30
YOUNG scouts were supported on a weekend trip to Jersey after a Bracknell company donated £250 to the cause.
Pharmaceutical group Boehringer Ingelheim gave the money after it was asked by Wendy Williams - who has been with the company for 24 years - to help out. Her two sons, who are part of the 2nd Crowthorne Scout Group, went on the trip and she waved them off on Friday evening from the group's base at Pinewood Leisure Centre, Wokingham.
She said: "I am delighted that Boehringer Ingelheim is able to support the Scouts going to Jersey.
"This is a really important trip as it gave the children an opportunity to learn new skills, help build self esteem and independence - all important skills as children move into adulthood.
"I feel privileged to work for a company that continues to be family oriented in difficult economic times. This donation made a huge difference to the trip and all the local children participating."
